The Philippine Government Audit Service Employees Association (PhilGASEA) launched the Kadiwa pop-up store on 30 May 2023 to give Commission on Audit (COA) employees easier access to basic commodities such as rice, eggs, fruits, and vegetables at affordable prices.

The project is in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) with the support of COA Chairperson Gamaliel A. Cordoba. The various products were sourced from the Brgy. Atbu Women’s Association, Sta. Ana Agricultural Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Agripreneur Farmers and Producers Association, and the Sugar Regulatory Administration.
The project was spear-headed by PhilGASEA President Edgardo Lamberto “Gary” Ramos and PhilGASEA Secretary Rhodora Jegira as the Project Coordinator. Also present during the opening were PRO Jane Hazel Guiriba, Vice President Laurence Tato and BOD Jowelito Alipio.
“I thought of this project immediately after being declared as the new PhilGASEA President. I wanted a project that would be impactful and in line with the thrust I committed to all the members during the campaign. After consultation with the Chairperson, officers and some friends from DA, the project was launched. I’m happy to know that the launch was a success and COAns as a whole requested to do this regularly. Members can expect more worthwhile projects like this during my term,” Mr. Ramos said.
Due to the overwhelming support from COA employees, most of the products were already sold out before the scheduled opening at 9 am. Representatives from the DA called other accredited suppliers for additional products to be sold. Because of its success, PhilGASEA plans to hold the pop-up store at least twice a month. #
