New COA Commissioner Lipana takes oath of office; attends first CP meeting

A day after the Commission on Appointments (CA) confirmed his appointment, new Commission on Audit (COA) Commissioner Mario G. Lipana took his oath of office before COA Chairperson Michael G. Aguinaldo on 27 January 2022. After his oath taking, Commissioner Lipana promised to fulfill his duties faithfully to the best of his ability.

Meanwhile, the new Commissioner attended his first COA-Commission Proper meeting on 28 January 2022 and was welcomed by Chairperson Aguinaldo and Commissioner Roland C. Pondoc as the newest member of the Commission Proper.

“The challenge for every member of the COA is to ensure accountability of public resources in the government. I sincerely hope that we can all work together towards the realization of the Commission’s goals and mission, especially with the strategic plan,” Commissioner Lipana said during the meeting.

Commissioner Lipana also vowed to work on speeding up the resolution of cases filed before the COA by adding more personnel and creating teams of certified public accountants and lawyers to act on cases.
