COA Chairperson Michael G. Aguinaldo and Commissioner Roland C. Joining them are Zamboanga del Sur Vice Governor Ace William E. Cerilles, COA Director Visitacion Q. Mendoza and Pagadian City Mayor Romeo P. Pulmones.
Sitting atop the rolling terrain of Barangay Balintawak in the City of Pagadian and in the midst of modern buildings housing various government offices in this national government-declared regional center for the Zamboanga Peninsula, the Commission on Audit’s (COA) new Provincial Satellite Auditing Office (PSAO) will house the audit teams in the Province of Zamboanga del Sur, serving as home away from home for the auditors.
COA Chairperson Michael G. Aguinaldo and Commissioner Roland C. Pondoc with key officials from the COA Central Office led regional officials and personnel in marking the inauguration of the PSAO building on 30 August 2018. The occasion was made more special as COA Regional Office No. IX marks the completion of the last of the PSAOs for its provinces, having duly realized its dream of providing a PSAO building for all its provinces.
COA’s partners in governance Mayor Romeo P. Pulmones of the City of Pagadian (the donor of the 3,000 sq.m. property), Vice Governor Ace William E. Cerilles of the Province of Zamboanga del Sur, with their respective Sanggunians, graced the occasion and expressed their continuing support for the Commission and its endeavors.
Chairperson Aguinaldo stressed the importance of the Commission’s partnership with the agencies in the performance of their mandate so that they may be able to deliver services directly to the people effectively, efficiently and economically. “If they are able to do their job well and COA is able to help them do it, then it bodes well for the citizens and residents,” added the Chairperson.
Commissioner Pondoc, for his part, noted that the Commission Proper was gracing the occasion not only for blessing and inauguration but also to meet the entire COA IX workforce. He emphasized that it is the Commission Proper’s duty to listen to the workers, to talk to them and give support.
As a fitting close to the inaugural program, Regional Director Visitacion Q. Mendoza stressed the region’s collective commitment to and acceptance of the challenge of continued and healthy partnership with the local governments in the Province along with all the Commission’s stakeholders in the pursuit of excellence in governance. #
