Commission on Audit (COA) Commissioner Roland C. Pondoc and TESDA Director General/Secretary Guiling “Gene” A. Mamondiong sign the Memorandum of Agreement on the exchange training programs related to capacity building, knowledge-sharing and skills training for gender and development.

The Commission on Audit (COA) has formed a partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on the exchange training programs related to capacity building, knowledge-sharing and skills training for gender and development (GAD).

To document this partnership, COA Commissioner Roland C. Pondoc and TESDA Director General/Secretary Guiling “Gene” A. Mamondiong signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on 6 September 2018 held at the Tandang Sora Hall of the TESDA Women’s Center in Taguig City.

“This will be a step forward for advancing the gender responsive governance of different government agencies. COA has been supporting GAD programs to help other government agencies especially in the proper utilization of the GAD budget,” Commissioner Pondoc said.

The MOA entails how COA and TESDA will work together to strengthen and increase the level of gender mainstreaming efforts through continuing exchange training programs of their respective GAD Focal Point System (GFPS).

COA commits to fully implement gender-responsive governance into its mandate and be recognized as a learning hub and model in gender mainstreaming by other government agencies and supreme audit institutions within the international audit community. Towards this end, COA will provide TESDA orientation and appreciation of the COA Revised Guidelines in the Audit of GAD Funds and other GAD and audit-related trainings for its central, regional and provincial personnel.

On the other hand, TESDA will facilitate training and access to various scholarship programs pertaining to gender-based job and skill competencies of COA administrative and technical personnel through accredited Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET), including their dependents. #
