COA enters into a Memorandum of Agreement for skills training; conducts housekeeping training

The Commission on Audit (COA) recently entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Regional Office No. IV-A for the skills training of administrative personnel of the Commission.

Assistant Commissioner Fortunata M. Rubico, Chair of the Technical Working Group, COA Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) signed for the COA and TESDA Regional Director Baron Jose L. Lagran signed for TESDA. COA Director Mary Joyce G. Eruma, Chair of the Committee on Training and Advocacy of the COA GFPS and TESDA Cavite Provincial Director Rosalinda B. Talavera signed as witnesses. The COA Chairperson authorized Assistant Commissioner Rubico to sign the MOA, in behalf of the COA, upon recommendation of the Assistant Commissioners’ Group.

The MOA covers various skills trainings that may be conducted at the COA International Training Center and Dormitory (CITCD) in Tagaytay City by the CTA, COA GFPS and the TESDA RO IV-A, through the TESDA Cavite Provincial Office (CPO) for Calendar Year 2024 onwards.

Meanwhile, the CTA, COA GFPS, in coordination with TESDA CPO, conducted a Housekeeping Training at the CITC in Tagaytay City on 15 to 19 April 2024, as the first initiative to implement the provisions of the MOA. The MOA signing was also held on the first day of the training.

A total of 20 COA personnel assigned at the CITCD and three from the General Services Office attended the five-day intensive live-in training. After the training, the participants are eligible to take the National Certification II at the accredited TESDA assessment center in Cavite.


Ms. Mylene Joy Star Guevarra, TESDA CPO Resource Person from St. Benilde College of Science and Technology and Assessment Center, conducts lecture and workshop during the Housekeeping Training at the CITC in Tagaytay City on April 15-19, 2024.

 

The TESDA CPO tapped the services of Ms. Mylene Joy Star Guevarra from St. Benilde College of Science and Technology and Assessment Center as resource person of the training. Ms. Guevarra conducted a very effective, participative, lively, and interactive five-day skills training. She imparted not just the theory and practice of housekeeping in conformity with international standards, but she also taught participants character-building, self-confidence boosting, and guest relation courtesies.

The training course also included a half-day session on Gender Sensitivity Training to equip the participants about the basics of gender and development (GAD) in relation to concerns pertaining to respect for human rights and their everyday dealings with the officemates, guests, family, and community; gender-based violence, safe spaces act, and other laws on GAD. #
