This year's COA Salutes the Best featured a full harvest of dedicated and skilled
personnel as three lady auditors and five audit teams stand above their peers
after being honored as the most outstanding.
The Commission on Audit paid tribute to State Auditors Cecilia E. Caga-anan,
Trinidad S. Gozun and Priscilla R. Gopez as the Most Outstanding Women of COA
during the COA Salutes the Best program held at the Professional
Development Center Auditorium on May 6, 2009.
The Audit Teams of Quedancor, Quedancor Regional Audit Team, Department of
Agriculture Field Units (DA-FRU) 3 and 4 and Supreme Court of the Philippines
were hailed as the Most Outstanding Audit Teams.
The Quedancor Audit Team was composed of Supervising Auditor Nilda M. Blanco,
and Audit Team members Arceli P. Canlas, Cynthia Trinidad L. Florida, Florenda
E. Caingat, Edna A. Yalung, and Jennifer C. Tinio.
The members of the Quedancor Regional Audit Team, on the other hand, were
Auditors Petra P. Maron, Isagani A. Urriza, Wilma R. Medroso, Delia L. Eco,
Lolita M. Pedrina, Dolores L. Perez, Priscila Rowena A. Moreto, Teresita A.
Cagalitan, Socorro Carlyn L. Amomonpon, Elisa M. Pusta, Danilo C. Cabidog and
Ms. Gozun.
Meanwhile, Senior Auditor Amelia C. Malig headed the DA-FRU 3 as the team
supervisor with the assistance of Auditors Emma T. Regino as team leader and
Teodora DR. Ramos as co-team leader and members Auditor Erlinda M. Adams and
Senior Technical Audit Specialists (Sr. TAS) Raynier DR. Hernandez and Ermin L.
Umerez.
The DA-RFU 4, on the other hand, was led by team supervisor Senior Auditor
Elmora B. Sta. Maria, team leader Auditor Desiree D. Aquino and co-team leader
Auditor Marina F. Casanova with team members Sr. TAS Valentin P. Acasio and
Gwendolyn B. Raga.
Ms. Caga-anan was in charge of the Supreme Court Audit Team as Supervising
Auditor with Auditor Narcisa B. Reyes as team leader and members Auditors
Lourdes S. Guevara, Rachel S. Policarpio, Marilou A. Ponce, Bonifacio E.
Bellido, Lina O. Cabrega, Jeanibeth J. Palabrica, Eugenia B. Malaybalay, Shane
M. Tanudtanud, Evangeline O. Castillo and Nelly F. Mercado.
Also given recognition were the loyalty awardees: Evelyn R. Arevalo, Jesus B.
Bascon, Blanca N. Bermundo, Nestor B. Buccat, Cesario C. Cagas, Rolando F.
Despi, Rogelio G. Mendoza, Bernardita C. Nono, Leonor A. Puso, Roberto T. Sales,
Corazon S. Salise, Jose M. Valencia III, Thelma C. Velasco, and Mergie B. Viray.
Former Senior Auditor Anicia V. Chico, who was once assigned at the
Department of Health, was acclaimed at 78 years old, the oldest productive
retiree.
Chairman Reynaldo A. Villar and Commissioner Juanito G. Espino, Jr. joined
the COA family in congratulating the awardees.
2008 Pinoy Idol winner Gretchen Espina, a daughter of Auditor Gabriel Espina
of the City Auditor of Manila, wowed the audience with her vocal prowess. Also
providing lively intermission number was Darwin Comia, a graduate of the COA Day
Care Summer Workshop.
