3 directors given new assignments

Chairman Guillermo N. Carague has given three seasoned COA Directors new assignments effective immediately.

In Reassignment Order No. 2001-125 issued on November 15, 2001, Dir. Raquel Habitan was reassigned from Corporate Audit Office II to the Legal Office.

This is the second time Attorney Habitan will hold the position of COA General Counsel and head of the Legal Office. The first was during the immediate past COA administration when she was reassigned from the Administrative Office to the Legal Office.

Dir. Gloria S. Cornejo has been tapped to take the place of Dir. Habitan as head of the Corporate Audit Office II.

For a while, Dir. Cornejo headed the Technical Services Office and, for several years, the Accountancy Office.

Under the same Reassignment Order, Director Elizabeth S. Zosa, a Lawyer and Engineer, is named Officer-in-Charge of the Technical Services Office, replacing Dir. Cornejo. She is concurrently assigned at the Chairman’s Office as Special Assistant to the Chairman.

Prior to this latest assignment as OIC of the TSO, Dir. Zosa, has held the number two position at the Special Audit Office, COA Regional Office No. 4, and TSO.

The reassignment of the Directors Habitan, Cornejo and Zosa was triggered by the recent retirement of Assistant Commissioner Santos Alquizalas who, immediately before bowing out of office, was the COA General Counsel and head of the Legal Office.
